Introducing TikiFeva: Hand-made raffia lamps & shades

Introducing TikiFeva: bespoke lamps and shades designed & created in Australia using organic raffia

Tikifeva lamps and shades are designed and created by Lisa Ryan on Wallumedegal land using natural raffia from Madagascar.

We sat down with Lisa to discuss all aspects of life inspiration and about herself.

Can you tell me a bit about yourself?

I’m influenced by far away tropical islands and the beautiful natural world that we live in.

My travels have provided much inspiration, from the vintage tiki bars in Hawaii and quirky architecture in Bali to the unique lamps I have stumbled across in the antique shops of France and Italy.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

I’m influenced by far away tropical islands and the beautiful natural world that we live in.

My travels have provided much inspiration, from the vintage tiki bars in Hawaii and quirky architecture in Bali to the unique lamps I have stumbled across in the antique shops of France and Italy.

Can you take us through your journey into making your lamps?

The lamps are designed and created in my home studio, using handmade steel frames wrapped in paper or natural raffia sourced from Madagascar.

During lockdown I had time on my hands so I started experimenting with upcycling (wrapping) lampshade frames found in op shops, the transition was so exciting that I was instantly hooked and the journey began

As my process and designs evolved I began the search for a local supplier who could provide the many shapes and dimensions I now combine to make a unique product.

I love the warm glow they give off,  they bring a feeling of calm and warmth to any room.

I would like to think my lamps make people happy and give the feeling of being on holiday!
