Explore En Gold's timeless furniture & homewares

Welcome to my styling journal, where I will guide you through the process of transforming and elevating your home.

I had the privilege of speaking at the Arli Homes Display Home event, and I would like to share the insights I presented with you.

Let's embark on this journey together.

1. Explore a variety of styles

The first step for styling your home is to figure out what you like. Explore inspiration and lifestyle images on Pinterest, Instagram, and magazines.

As you explore the world of interiors, you will expose yourself to more things you like and dislike. You may end up with one or multiple styles of your preference, which is totally fine.

2. Discover your favourite tone and texture

In the realm of interior styling, an essential aspect to consider is the interplay of tone and texture. Explore and discover the tone or colour palette that you gravitate towards.

This becomes the anchor for creating a home that transcends fleeting trends.

By centering your design choices around tone, texture, and colour, you can cultivate a space that is truly timeless and authentic.

Embracing a harmonious blend of tones and textures allows for a more nuanced and layered aesthetic, one that reflects who you are and defies passing fads.

So, let your home be a canvas where tone and texture take center stage, weaving a narrative that is uniquely yours.

3. Incorporate comforting wares

When it comes to your living space, it is essential to consider how you want it to make you feel.

We all have different desires and needs for our homes, but ultimately, we seek comfort and a space that reflects our unique personality.

To achieve this, I recommend exploring soft furnishings, incorporating plenty of cushions, playing with textures, and opting for muted tones.

These elements will contribute to the cozy and relaxing atmosphere you desire.

Additionally, think about the desired ambiance not just for yourself, but also for those who enter your space.

4. Add energising and bright colour

If you crave an atmosphere that energizes and uplifts you, color is your best friend.

Through artwork, soft furnishings, decor items, and rugs, you can infuse vibrant hues into your home.

As soon as you step into a room, you should feel the energy and brightness enveloping you.

5. Keep it calm and minimal

For those who appreciate a calm and minimalist style, I suggest starting with key pieces and gradually building upon them over time.

There's no rush to fill every corner of your home immediately after moving in.

Take your time, be intentional with your purchases, and allow your space to evolve organically.

This intentional styling approach will result in a curated and personalized home that exudes tranquility.

6. Invest in hero pieces

Hero pieces are the cornerstones of your home, where cherished memories are made. Whether it's a dining table, coffee table, or bed, these are the items I encourage you to invest in. Furnishing an entire home can be a costly endeavor, especially if you're buying everything new. Therefore, it's important to allocate your resources wisely. Personally, I believe in investing in a dining table because it serves as the heartbeat of my home — a place where I share meals and create lasting memories with my family and friends. Consider the areas in your home where you want to forge lasting memories, and invest your money accordingly. Perhaps it's your living room, where you spend the majority of your time. Identify the spaces that hold the most significance to you and make them your investment priorities. Remember, it will vary for everyone, but the key is to think about where you want to create your memories and what you want in your home that's going be there for many years to come.

7. Choose pieces from the heart

At En Gold, we believe in creating interiors that transcend generations. By investing in meaningful pieces, you can pass them down as heirlooms, carrying sentimental value for years to come.

Embrace the idea of blending old and new elements in your home. Allow your space to tell your unique story. Consider items that have personal significance, such as those picked up during travels or found in op shops.

These objects hold character and add depth to your home. Let them become part of your journey and connect you with your space on a deeper level.

8. Consider the craftsmanship of the pieces

When I talk about styling your home from the heart, I encourage you to look at pieces in your home that tells a story and travelled a journey to meet you.

At En Gold, we celebrate our Filipino heritage and our pieces are handcrafted from start to finish in the most beautiful and unique way.

This is something that we love to share very transparently with our clients because we want you to feel connected and we hope it becomes a conversation starter when you have your piece in your home.

You may come across pieces that stand out to you from local ceramic artists, painters, and craftsmen who align with your style and values.

I really encourage the intentional styling and thinking about what you are bringing into your home. We wouldn't let anyone to walk through your door, same with your furniture. That's gonna live with you. You want each piece to have a story and speak to your heart.

Summary and Reflection

I hope you have found inspiration and practical tips in this styling journal.

Take a moment to reflect on your current home and envision the direction you want to take it. Consider the desired tone, texture, comfort, ambiance, and personal stories you wish to incorporate.

By being intentional with your choices and embracing the opportunity to create a sanctuary, your home will become a true reflection of your unique identity.

Remember to invest in key pieces, balance old and new elements, and celebrate craftsmanship. Let your home become an extension of your heart, filled with stories waiting to be told.
